Dare I Plead?

I live in the baby Blue clouds, the ones with tufts of White cotton balls

I live in the Yellow veins and Emerald tubes of the leaves

I even live in the Ultramarine waves and bends of the ocean

I am adrift,

I may just rise up and float away

Please hold,

Please hold me,

Please grab me by the ankles,

Take a great, Red and White cord and tie me to something Brown and mighty

Perhaps to a chopped off and abandoned stump of a great Redwood tree

Please hold,

Please hold me close,

Tight,

and urgently

I do not need to be held like a child, but wrapped up and swayed like a woman,

Do you understand?

This matters to me,

and greatly

Greatly it does,

It takes leaps and falls to get to this point,

but if you listen closely,

Hear me

I want to be held as I am,

As I will come,

and as I will later go.

H.A.
